The Trophy Report Aug 30, 2018

Hello everyone and welcome to The Trophy Report for the week of August 30th, 2018. What is The Trophy Report you might ask? Well TTR (The Trophy Report) is a weekly summary of PlayStation trophies I have earned over the last seven days. For example, the August 30 report covers any trophies earned between the 23rd and the 30th, although I didn’t earn any trophies until the 26th of the week, we still start the report on the 23rd.

Now then what did we earn this week? Let’s take a look.

List of trophies earned this week

As you can see we had a semi-eventful week this time around. Earning 3 bronze, 3 silver, 1 gold, and 1 platinum trophy. Most of the trophies earned this week are from MLB The Show 18 with the exception of the I’m Done Learning trophy which was earned in Assassin’s Creed Origins.

Considering I play an absurd amount of MLB The Show every year I’m a little surprised that this is my first time earning all the trophies in an MLB game. The nice thing about the trophies in the MLB games is that for the most part, you will earn them naturally over time while you play the game, there aren’t really any trophies I can think of off the top of my head that you need to seek out, with the exception of the “Talking About Practice” trophy which requires you to create a custom play in the games new practice mode.

It felt great finally getting the platinum trophy in MLB The Show 18, I was playing the games career-style mode and the only trophy I had left to earn was the El Ciclo trophy. El Ciclo requires the user to hit for the cycle during a game, In baseball, you hit the cycle when a player hits a single, double, triple, and home run in the same game. I finally got to a point where all I need to complete the cycle was the oh so hard to earn triple.

I remember rounding second base risking being thrown out on my way to third when the fielders throw to third base was off target and I slid into third base safely. I must have jumped out of my chair at least 5 feet into the air shouting in excitement. Alannah (my ever so beautiful girlfriend) looked over from across the room when all I heard her say was “Did you do it?”. It was a really nerdy moment when two people start hugging each other because one of them earned a platinum trophy, but it was a great moment nonetheless.

The only other game I earned a trophy in over the last week was the silver trophy from Assassin’s Creed Origins. It was a really easy trophy that required me to activate a master ability. I’ve recently begun playing a little bit of ACO again while I wait for the release of Insomniac’s, Spider-Man on the PS4. ACO is a fantastic game, one that I think I might go back and try to platinum because the trophy list looks pretty easy. Lots of collecting and completing various side quests.

I think a great way to end this segment every week is to provide an image that shows the total trophy collection for my PSN account. Thanks for taking the time to read through the first edition of The Trophy Report, I hope you enjoyed it. If you are a collector of trophies feel free to drop me an email ( and maybe your trophy story will end up in a future edition of The Trophy Report.
